I was born in Mt Lawley. I was meant to be called Alfreda but due to the stress of labour, mum couldn’t remember the name, so Lydia it was.

I live in a 1970s duplex with my husband, two young children and a shih-tzu that’s greedier than an airport parking meter. I’m an advertising copywriter who also writes comedy. I wrote a weekly comedy segment for 96FM in Perth and enjoyed some success in stand-up comps like Raw Comedy (MICF) and Green Faces.

Words I’ve tapped out

To avoid working on my novels, I fiddle around with flash fiction, articles and things like that.

No matter what I try to write, I am frequently interrupted.
